3 Chai Recipes To Make During Lockdown
Most places in the world right now are either practicing social distancing, in quarantine, or lockdown because of COVID-19. Whatever it may be, being stuck at home can be a love/hate sorta thing.
At first, staying at home seems like it wouldn’t be too bad. You get to relax, and aren’t committed to doing anything, and then that’s when one of two things hit:
Extreme boredom, or
Extreme motivation to just, do something (but you’re not sure what?)
Personally, I’ve been on an unusual baking kick. I don’t know what it is about being stuck at home with nothing else to do but it brings out the creative side!
Apparently many on lockdown are also experiencing this irresistible urge to make something (preferably edible). I was scrolling through twitter and saw an article featuring many people’s “stress-baked-goods” and that’s just so funny to me how we all just revert to cooking up something when we’re bored.
Now, obviously I love my chai, so I’m taking this time to experiment some different potential recipes to share with you guys in the future. In addition I’m sleeping in, chilling out, making some music (another obsession of mine), and making the best of this temporary change of schedule.
Are you itching for something to do? Are you bored because you’re stuck at home all day, and have already rewatched your favorite Netflix series 97 times? Does this lockdown make you hungry? I have the perfect solution.
Go turn on some chill tunes, and get ready to make these 3 AWESOME chai recipes during your lockdown.
Recipe 1
Chai Concentrate
This should be the first thing you make (duh) ! Concentrates are amazing, they hold so much flavor and stay good in your fridge for up to a week. I made this recipe so you can completely customize it to your liking. It’s amazing if you can grind you own spices, but if you don’t have the whole spices in your pantry, don’t worry! You can use pre-ground spices you already have.
This is my go-to recipe, and it works because if someone else in the fam wants a different type of milk in it they can. The concentrate is just the spices + tea + sweetener.
Lockdown + chai = doable.

Recipe 2
Chai French Toast
Since you already made the concentrate, this is SUPER EASY and CRAZY good. I love breakfast so much. I’m that person that would eat breakfast for any of my meals, so french toast is a favorite over here.
That being said, I needed a way to “chai” it up. This is a great recipe for right now, since you want to avoid going to the grocery store until you h a v e t o. You probably have the ingredients right there. Enjoy for any one of your meals and be sure to top it with some cinnamon or chai spice to take it to the next level!

And on that note…
Recipe 3
Chai Spice Mix
This is the easiest way to incorporate some chai into practically anything. I’m saying throw this in hot chocolate, pancakes, toast, muffins, banana bread, ALL THE FOOD. Ok, maybe not like pasta or something… but you get the point.
Just mix the spices together and you got something amazing (and sugar free too!).
Ridiculously easy, and this recipe uses common spices I already had in my spice drawer so double score!!! You’ll love it and use it on so many things, it makes everything that much better.
Since we’re all in this together (cue high school musical soundtrack), post a picture of your quarantine kitchen adventures and tag me @itrychai on Instagram! I’ll repost some of your pics of these chai recipes, so keep em coming! As always, these recipes are on my Pinterest as well so show them some love and give me a follow on there as well.

Stay healthy guys! Stay at home if at all possible, wash your hands (especially before making any of these recipes), and I’ll see you soon with the next post.
