Review: Firepot Masala Chai Concentrate

Firepot Concentrate

Hello chai enthusiasts! I’m back with another review today.

Sorry I missed the last post date, I’ve been keeping busy at home during quarantine. I have enrolled in a graphic design course, and been working on that and really excited. I’m hoping to get into that seriously in the future, and it will really help me improve my branding on here as well!

I’m working on a new logo (check out my instagram profile picture for a sneak peek) and will be bringing it here very soon.

What background color would you like to see for the new logo: Pink, green, beige, or something else? Let me know in the comments!

I’ve been doing some minor updates to the site as well, little bells and whistles. If you look at the bottom right corner of your screen, you’ll see I have a new “buy me a chai” button! This is really neat and allows you guys to show your support buy buying me a cup (or 3) of chai.

I’m also diligently working on resolving the Google result problem, so if you’ve found me through Google I promise it’s not a sketchy place! Look around, check out my articles, sip some chai and get inspired. And for my loyal readers, bear with me haha.

You can also keep up with me and all the chai inspiration on my Pinterest and Instagram @itrychai.

So let’s get right to the review!

Today we are going to talk about Firepot Nomadic Teas’ Organic Masala Chai Concentrate. The last review I did was for their loose leaf masala chai, which you can read by clicking here.

I will say that concentrate almost always has a different taste than a loose leaf blend. Concentrates have a stronger flavor, and it’s true with this blend as well.

Close up of bottle

The concentrate came in a glass bottle as you can see, and I love this because drinks that come in plastic bottles tend to “absorb” that plastic taste, but glass preserves the drink’s flavor without any unwanted residual taste from the packaging.

Once you open the bottle, you can definitely smell the spices (which is a good thing).

I love concentrates because not only do they give intense flavor, but they also are super convenient. All you have to do is pour equal parts concentrate and milk of choice and it’s done!

Concentrate being poured into glass

This concentrate makes it especially easy because it already has sweetener in it. It also lasts up to 4 weeks in the fridge after you open it (much longer than some other concentrates I’ve bought which typically last around 10 days).

When mixed with milk/milk alternative, the chai is very smooth. For this concentrate I recommend Oatly full fat milk.

It tastes really good, even though there’s sweetener in it it’s not overpowering (think: less sugary than Starbucks). I taste pronounced notes of clove, and it’s definitely a chai for a chai lover that wants something more than a basic coffee shop chai latte.

Milk pouring into concentrate

I’d drink this again! If you want to try it, head on over to Firepot Nomadic Tea’s website, and you can get 20% OFF your purchase by using the code itrychai20 .
