Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Chai + Copycat Recipe

Starbucks secret menu copycat recipe pal pumpkin spice latte chai tea latte

Hi fellow chai enthusiasts! It is arguably the BEST time of year, coming from someone who is OBSESSED with all things pumpkin spice and chai.

A lot of you seemed to like my Starbucks secret menu drinks I’ve posted in the past, and I wanted to not only give you a new drink to try but also show you how you can make the exact same thing at home (I’ll link the exact ingredients I use as well).

Now I now what you’re thinking: didn’t Starbucks put a pumpkin chai on their menu a few years ago? The short answer is yes, and it was awful. Maybe it’s a bit dramatic, but it was so sickly sweet and I coudnt’t taste the chai! It honestly tasted like orange food coloring and nothing else. I discovered an easy way to get the right amount of pumpkin vibes and chai all together.

The problem I had was with their pumpkin syrup… and don’t get me wrong, I LOVE a pumpkin spice latte. It was just that it didn’t mix well with the chai, and was way too overpowering. So here’s how I order my “Pumpkin Spice Chai”, or autumn in a cup.

* This is fantastic iced and hot!

Simply order an iced or hot, (your size) chai, with pumpkin spice powder on top and oat milk. If you haven’t tried oat milk yet, trust me, the flavor complements the spices PERFECTLY and it will hands down be your go to drink this fall.

Now, what about those times where you don’t want to leave your house, drive to Starbucks, and wait in line for your chai? I got you covered. Here’s a copycat recipe to bring Starbucks to your kitchen:

What you’ll need (and links to get on Amazon with free Prime shipping):

For an iced chai, simply add ice to a cup and add 1/2 chai concentrate to 1/2 oat milk and top generously with pumpkin spice.

For a hot chai, steam your oat milk on the stove, then add to mug half way, then finish with chai concentrate. Froth some leftover steamed oat milk with a hand frother (here’s the one I use) and add to top. Sprinkle pumpkin spice generously on top.
